CAN BE, in cooperation with The East Stroudsburg Business Accelerator, The Carbondale Technology Transfer Center, The Bloomsburg Regional Technology Center and The Innovation Center at Wilkes-Barre, is pleased to announce the Fall program schedule for their highly acclaimed Start Your Own Business seminar series. The 2009-2010 series will be presented in four three-hour sessions with one session hosted by each of the above mentioned business incubators.
Session I September 22, 2009 hosted by East Stroudsburg
WHAT MAKES A BUSINESS SUCCEED?
Learn the preliminary steps needed to be taken to launch and grow a start-up business successfully including writing a winning business plan. Learn the 3 “P’s” for success and take home a great book entitled Employee to Entrepreneur along with a financials template CD.

MARKETING FOR YOUR NEW BUSINESS
Learn essential marketing techniques and tips for both conventional and internet marketing to help you establish your brand and makes sales. Take home The Ultimate Small Business Marketing Guide.
Session III November 17, 2009 hosted by The Bloomsburg Regional Technology Center
UNDERSTANDING FINANCIALS
Learn to navigate through and understand basic financial statements in order to make sound business decisions as your business grows. Learn how to price products or services for profit and where to find financing. Take home detailed descriptions of all topics.
Session IV January 12, 2010 hosted by The Innovation Center at Wilkes-Barre
GET READY TO LAUNCH!
Learn about necessary business insurances; how to protect your idea or your product; how to value your business in order to take on investors; how to make a great presentation to investors and finally, listen to 3 actual start-ups seeking funding from a group of real angel investors in the audience. Hear the good and bad from each company’s investor “pitch”.
After attending all four sessions, anyone should be fully prepared to launch their own small business with the help of one of the participating incubator programs.
Cost is $50.00 per session and includes all materials, a light meal and access to a number of the region’s top business minds.
